What are ARA and DHA and why are they in Baby Steps® products?
ARA (arachidonic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) are fats that are naturally found in mother’s breast milk. Infants depend on these fats for healthy development as they contribute to brain development, healthy cognitive function, development of the visual system and normal eyesight as well as balanced mood, learning and behaviour. They also contribute to the development of a healthy and responsive immune system.
My infant is lactose intolerant; can they still have goat’s milk?
Goat’s milk naturally contains lactose. The Baby Steps® Infant, Follow-On and Growing-Up products all contain lactose so if your baby is intolerant to lactose then these products may not be suitable. We advise discussing this with your health care provider before trying these products.
